Anhui’s industrial engine continued to run strongly, driving rapid growth in the industrial economy. According to the Anhui Provincial Bureau of Statistics on August 26, industrial production in Anhui continued to gain momentum in July, with the electronics and information technology and automobile manufacturing industries registering robust growth and further accelerating overall industrial production. The value added of industrial enterprises above designated size across the province increased 14.5% year on year, 10 percentage points higher than the national growth rate.

The electronics and information technology and automobile manufacturing industries recorded rapid growth. In July, the value added of the province’s electronics and information technology industry increased 94.3% year on year, while that of the automobile manufacturing industry rose 42.1%. Driven by the rapid growth of these two industries, the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size in the equipment manufacturing sector increased 34.7%.

The leading role of high-tech manufacturing continued to strengthen. In July, the value added of high-tech manufacturing enterprises above designated size in the province increased 68.9% year on year, contributing 77.0% to the growth of the total value added of industrial enterprises above designated size. By industry, the value added of integrated circuit manufacturing and optoelectronic device manufacturing increased 4.7-fold and 46.0%, respectively. By product, the development of “AI+” drove output growth of products such as sensors by 20.9%, while new economic growth drivers, including embodied intelligence and human-machine collaboration, boosted the output of industrial robots and service robots by 22.2% and 88.7%, respectively.

Exports of industrial products maintained relatively rapid growth. In July, the export delivery value of industrial enterprises above designated size in the province continued to grow at a relatively rapid pace, increasing 9.0% despite the high base created by a 22.4% increase in the same period last year. The equipment manufacturing sector provided strong support, with its export delivery value accounting for 83.5% of the total export delivery value of industrial enterprises above designated size, up 9.9 percentage points from the same period last year.
