On April 27, as a major special event of the 4th China (Anhui) Science and Technology Innovation Achievement Transformation Fair, the AI Automotive Technology and Industry Innovation Matching Event was successfully held in Hefei. The event, themed “Integrated Development, Embracing the Innovation,” was hosted by the Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission (Provincial Automotive Office) with support from organizations including the Anhui Automotive Innovation Center.
At the event, the “Auto Intelligent Engine Factory and Genius Innovation Plan” was unveiled, announcing the top ten forward‑looking technology requirements for AI vehicles. Anhui has taken the lead in establishing the country’s first official AI automotive industry innovation center, promoting the comprehensive reshaping of theoretical systems, technology architectures, product forms, and industrial ecosystems. The announced technology priorities cover key areas such as end‑cloud collaborative large models, multi‑source energy scheduling, and full‑domain steer‑by‑wire chassis systems.
During the event, the AI Automotive Engineering College jointly established by Hefei University of Technology and the Provincial Automotive Innovation Center was officially inaugurated — the first of its kind in Anhui. The partners will build a new industry‑education integration model of “provincial innovation center resource infusion + university discipline support + industry demand guidance,” creating an engineering‑oriented talent development system featuring “AI‑empowered vehicles.” The college aims to become a leading national hub for training AI automotive industry talent and a source of technological innovation.
The Advanced Electromagnetic Powertrain Collaborative Innovation Center, jointly established by Wanxi College and the Provincial Automotive Innovation Center, was also inaugurated. The center will deeply integrate provincial innovation platforms with the specific needs of regional industrial transformation, focusing on specialty tracks such as intelligent control of electromagnetic powertrains, energy management, and integrated industrialization. By building an organized industry innovation system — from strategic research to technology innovation, scenario cultivation, industrial incubation, talent development, and brand promotion — it will drive the transformation and upgrading of Lu'an City’s automotive industry and explore a replicable and scalable regional industrial upgrade “Lu'an Path.”
During the event, Hefei, Wuhu, and Mengcheng (Bozhou) each presented themed showcases of AI automotive innovation scenarios, highlighting Anhui’s active exploration in developing AI vehicle application scenarios. Hefei focused on creating diversified application scenarios and demonstrated a wealth of AI+vehicle implementation outcomes; Wuhu shared practical experiences of AI‑enabled digital R&D and design for vehicles, illustrating how AI acts as a powerful engine for improving R&D quality and efficiency; and Mengcheng County in Bozhou presented achievements in constructing data demonstration scenarios for intelligent connected vehicles, activating the value of data elements for the industry by promoting public data circulation.
To improve matchmaking efficiency, the event included a precision matching segment for AI automotive technology and industrial innovation. On site, there were supply‑and‑demand matchmaking zones, regional liaison zones, and open negotiation areas. The supply‑and‑demand zone featured an independent discussion area for OEMs to facilitate precise technical and supply‑demand matching between parts suppliers and automakers such as JAC, Chery, and NIO. The regional liaison zone invited municipal automotive offices, investment promotion departments, investment institutions, and park platforms to jointly participate, offering enterprises a one‑stop communication channel for tech financing and industrial implementation.
