How is Anhui fostering the rise of future industries?
Innovation is the core engine driving the progress of our era and the pivotal force shaping the future.
Currently, Anhui is firmly seizing the initiative in future industries, driving industrial innovation through sci-tech advancement. With strategic focus and meticulous efforts in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence and the low-altitude economy, the province is accelerating the formation and growth of future industries.
From June 30 to July 6, 2025, more than one hundred journalists from central and local mainstream media participated in the "Research Tour on Vibrant China" Anhui-themed media event. They conducted in-depth research and were inspired by numerous technological breakthroughs and industrial practices. The journalists personally experienced Anhui's vigorous drive toward innovation and gained a tangible sense of the province's thriving landscape of the future industry.
From technological upgrades to industrial transformation, Anhui is now focusing on the direction of the development of the future industry. It continuously expands the application scenarios for innovative achievements and strengthens the supporting capabilities of the entire industrial chain. The effect of clustering of industries is becoming increasingly evident.
In Wanzhi District, Wuhu City, what was once a barren wasteland 12 years ago has now risen to become a modern aviation town. Upon entering the park, journalists discovered that within just a few kilometers, one could find all domestic suppliers for manufacturing general aviation aircraft, from airplane engines and composite materials to avionics systems and propellers.
CETC Wuhu Diamond Aircraft was the first whole-aircraft manufacturing company to settle in the aviation town and serves as the "chain master" enterprise. Over the past decade, it has attracted more than 200 upstream and downstream enterprises to cluster here. Meanwhile, Wuhu City has now assembled nearly 200 enterprises along the aviation industry chain, including new aviation materials, drones, and engine manufacturers. These enterprises cover the entire industrial chain from research and development, manufacturing, maintenance, operations, to training, with a self-sufficiency rate of 100% for key core components of the complete aircraft. In 2024, the city's low-altitude economy industry achieved a revenue of 46.38 billion yuan, an increase of 15.95% year-on-year.
At the strategic planning level, Anhui has systematically mapped out key directions including core technology R&D, industrial collaboration, and application scenario implementation. The province issued the "Anhui Future Industry Development Action Plan", adopting a "one-industry-one-policy" approach for targeted sectors under the "7+N" framework. Regarding talent recruitment and cultivation mechanisms, Anhui implemented the "Attracting Talent and Intelligence" initiative to bring high-level sci-tech innovators to the province. It advanced reforms in IP rights allocation, empowering universities and research institutions to transfer ownership of technological achievements to R&D teams for commercialization. These measures have significantly boosted the efficiency of future-industry technology transfer.
