2023 National U15 International Wrestling Championships kicks off in Huaibei, Anhui
On July 15, 2023, the National U15 International Wrestling Championship was grandly held at the Huaibei Sports Center. Nearly 500 young wrestlers from 38 representative teams across the country gathered in Huaibei, Anhui, to start an exciting competition.
The competition included three wrestling styles: men's freestyle wrestling, women's freestyle wrestling, and Greco-Roman wrestling, with 10 competition events per weight category for each wrestling style. A total of 30 gold medals will be awarded in the end.
The first day of the competition included seven weight categories for men's freestyle wrestling: 34-38kg, 41kg, 44kg, 48kg, 52kg, 57kg, and 62kg. After a day of competition, Xie Jiaxuan and Liang Xiyi from Guangxi Sports School, Huang Yongzhao from Guangzhou, Huang Qiaofu and Mo Jiajian from Guangxi Sports School, Ma Chengzhuang from the Jinan team, and Chen Jiahao from the Guangdong team won the championship in their respective weight categories. The award ceremony was held on the same day.
The competition was hosted by the Weightlifting, Wrestling and Judo Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the Chinese Wrestling Association, and the Anhui Provincial Sports Bureau, and organized by the Anhui Provincial Competitive Sports Management Center, the Anhui Wrestling Sports Association, and the Culture, Tourism, and Sports Bureau of Huaibei City.
