The 2nd China (Anhui) Science and Technology Innovation Achievement Transformation Fair (2023 CSTIATF), "USTC Silicon Valley, Sci-tech Talents Projects Roadshow," was successfully held in Hefei on April 28.

The event was guided by the Science and Technology Department of Anhui Province, the Health Commission of Anhui Province, and the Office of the Leading Group for the Construction of USTC Silicon Valley, and was hosted by USTC Silicon Valley Service Platform Company and USTC Silicon Valley Global Alumni Affairs Department. The event was co-organized by the Hefei High-tech Industry Development Zone Management Committee, the Shushan District People's Government of Hefei City, the Institute of Healthy Yangtze River Delta of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Technology Business School of the USTC, and the Anhui Zhong'an Chuanggu Technology Park Co., Ltd, etc.

The event focused on the biomedical industry, and many domestic biopharmaceutical experts, scholars, and leaders of head enterprises gathered to exchange cutting-edge industry information. It is worth mentioning that the event also invited Xu Tian, Vice President of Westlake University and Chief Scientific Advisor of Fosun Pharma, and Yu Tianning, former director of the Greater New York Area Alumni Association of the USTC and CEO and President of Mevion Medical Systems, and a founding partner of Yuanming Capital, to share their insights. In addition, projects related to tumor treatment, quantum computing, AI diagnosis and treatment, and medical imaging equipment innovation were presented through roadshows at the event. They showed wonderful examples combining innovation and technology, vividly demonstrating the positive development momentum of China's biopharmaceutical industry in the present.

In addition to the biopharmaceutical industry, science and technology innovation is positioned as the core of development in Anhui, as it is essential to improve productivity and comprehensive national strength. As the hosting platform for this event, USTC Silicon Valley is a typical representative of the innovation hub that meets the needs of national strategies and high-quality development in Anhui.

It is reported that the overall plan for the core area of USTC Silicon Valley includes six phases, with a planned land area of about 1,500 mu and a total investment of about 20 billion yuan. After the project is fully constructed, it is expected to gather about 50,000 talents of various types and cultivate more than 2,000 technology-based enterprises with an annual output value of more than 200 billion yuan.
