Bearing responsibility for development and the hopes of the people, deputies to the fourth session of the 14th Anhui Provincial People's Congress began arriving at their hotels to register on the afternoon of February 3. "Last year Anhui's grain output reached a new high. Sown grain area totaled 110.417 million mu and grain production reached 83.86 billion jin, an increase of 170 million jin over the previous year — the ninth consecutive year above 80 billion jin," deputy Hao Zhengwang told reporters about the province's agricultural gains. He is bringing proposals on strengthening support for integrating primary, secondary and tertiary rural industries.

This year marks the opening year of the 15th Five‑Year Plan period, and Provincial People's Congress deputy Fang Huaicheng is full of expectation for the convening of the two sessions. He said he looks forward to the meetings. "Over the past five years Anhui has achieved leapfrog development in economy and society," he noted.

"I am excited by our hometown's progress and confident in Anhui's future. I also feel the new mission and higher expectations that come with my role as a deputy," Fang added. He pledged to attend conscientiously, speak actively at the sessions, and contribute to Anhui's high‑quality development.

"Upgrading traditional industries is an important task for promoting high‑quality development and building a modern industrial system in our province," said deputy Wang Chengjun from the Huainan delegation. He noted that Anhui's traditional sectors are achieving green transformation and renewed vitality through paths of high‑end specialization, intelligence, domestic sourcing and environmental sustainability.

Every proposal reflects local conditions and public concern; every statement embodies strong expectations.
