Recently, at Geek+ Global Manufacturing Headquarters in Hefei-Lujiang Industrial New City, dozens of logistics robots have been undergoing final testing and commissioning before leaving the factory. Bound for Europe, these “warehouse experts” will soon begin operating in logistics warehouses overseas.

Lyu Yan, Administration Manager of Geek+ Global Manufacturing Headquarters, said that the company mainly produces picking robots, mobile robots and general-purpose humanoid robots. Powered by its proprietary scheduling system, the company has transformed warehouse logistics from the traditional “person-to-goods” model to a “goods-to-person” model. More than 70 percent of its logistics robots are sold overseas, with products exported to more than 40 countries and regions.

Chinese-made logistics robots have gained popularity in overseas markets by addressing specific pain points in local industries. Lyu Yan told reporters that, particularly during Black Friday sales, orders and returns surge simultaneously. The traditional “person-to-goods” sorting model is not only inefficient but also prone to high error rates, posing a recurring challenge for overseas merchants. Robots can significantly reduce human error while substantially improving picking and storage efficiency.

“Selling products is not the end of our work. We need to establish a local service presence and address problems arising in real-world applications for our customers.” In Lyu Yan’s view, the core strengths that enable Chinese companies to gain a firm foothold in overseas markets lie in stringent quality and safety standards, proprietary core algorithms, and a global service network.

Today, logistics robots are no longer confined to back-end warehousing and are gradually expanding into retail, automotive, consumer electronics, catering and other sectors. “Whether we are tackling technological challenges or expanding into new markets, we go global with a determination to take on challenges head-on, delivering Chinese solutions tailored to real-world needs,” Lyu Yan said.

As products go global, smart manufacturing leads the way. In recent years, Lujiang County, Hefei, Anhui Province, has pursued innovation-driven development and strengthened its industrial base, while continuing to deepen its presence in intelligent manufacturing and lay a solid foundation for the high-quality development of manufacturing. Going forward, Lujiang County will leverage innovation to drive industrial upgrading, further strengthen the industrial foundation for “Lujiang-made” smart products to enter global markets, and build momentum for future development.
