On March 26, reporters learned from the Anhui Provincial Automobile Office that, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to February this year, the production of automobiles and new energy vehicles (NEVs) in our province both ranked first in the country, achieving a historic breakthrough.

The data shows that from January to February, the province's automobile production reached 444,800 units, a year-on-year increase of 21.3%, accounting for 9.99% of the national total. This placed Anhui ahead of the second and third-ranking provinces by 68,300 and 73,200 units, respectively. The production of NEVs reached 234,300 units, a year-on-year increase of 132.1%, accounting for 12.89% of the national total, exceeding the second and third-ranking provinces by 35,500 and 67,500 units, respectively.

The "double first" in automobile and NEV production is attributed to our province's commitment to leading through technological innovation and accelerating the development of a globally competitive NEV industry cluster.

As for the supporting services for the NEV industry, our province is efficiently advancing the construction of charging and battery swapping infrastructure at the municipal, county, and township levels, conducting pilot projects for vehicle-network integration, and promoting the accelerated application of new technologies such as liquid-cooled supercharging and V2B. The "Anhui Charging and Swapping" app has been launched, aiming to create a unified network for charging and swapping services across the province. As of the end of February this year, Anhui has built 787,600 charging piles, achieving full coverage of charging piles in highway service areas, with an overall coverage rate of about 97% for public charging stations in towns and villages.

It is reported that in 2024, Anhui's automobile production exceeded 3 million units for the first time in history, reaching 3.57 million units, maintaining a growth rate of over 40% for two consecutive years. The production of NEVs reached 1.684 million units, with a year-on-year increase of 94.5%.
