Deploying Physical AI with Focus on ADAS, In‑Cabin AI, and Robotics

On April 23 in Beijing, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. signed a global strategic cooperation agreement with NVIDIA. The two parties will jointly develop and deploy technologies in three major areas — advanced driver assistance/automated driving, in‑cab AI, and robotics — accelerating Chery’s global business expansion and realizing a comprehensive “cloud‑to‑vehicle” layout.

In the autonomous driving domain, NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion will be introduced for China‑market L3/L4 intelligent vehicles. DRIVE Hyperion is a production‑grade autonomous vehicle platform and reference architecture designed for L4 autonomy, integrating NVIDIA’s advanced compute platform, a validated sensor suite, and software to accelerate the deployment of safe, highly automated driving capabilities. At the same time, Chery will adopt NVIDIA’s toolchains and development platforms while independently developing its own autonomous driving software stack to pursue both controllable autonomy and open innovation. Backed by NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure, Chery gains secure and efficient computing power to robustly support autonomous driving model training, massive data processing, and AI algorithm development, laying a solid foundation for the company’s vehicle intelligence.

In the in‑cab AI field, Chery will leverage NVIDIA to develop a new generation of intelligent experiences. Using generative AI technologies, Chery aims to build cabin capabilities that offer natural emotional interaction, comprehensive scene awareness, and highly personalized services for each user, reshaping human‑vehicle interaction paradigms.

The cooperation also extends to embodied intelligence and other cutting‑edge areas, including humanoid robots and diversified intelligent robot platforms based on NVIDIA Jetson. Chery will adopt NVIDIA’s open robotics simulation framework Isaac Sim and the open humanoid robot development platform Isaac GR00T to accelerate its extension from intelligent vehicles into robotics and to explore new frontiers in embodied intelligence.

Yin Tongyue, Chairman of Chery Automobile, stated that intelligence is the core engine of Chery’s globalization strategy. The strategic cooperation with NVIDIA is a key step for Chery to integrate top global technology resources and accelerate its transformation into a global high‑tech ecosystem group. Leveraging NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure together with Chery’s vehicle manufacturing and globalization strengths, the two parties will jointly build a full‑stack AI ecosystem to deliver smarter and safer mobility products for users.
