As the second national-level high-tech industrial zone in Anhui Province and the second-largest in economic output among the province's high-tech zones, Wuhu High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Yijiang District) fully leverages its role as a national-level high-tech zone. It focuses on making strategic moves in innovation, pursuing industrial upgrading, and fostering new quality productive forces through innovation, striving to become a "100-billion-yuan development zone."

Innovation is the engine of high-quality development. Currently, Wuhu is committed to building itself as a "city of innovation" by pursuing a path that integrates industry with science and technology. Wuhu High-tech Zone promotes deep integration of industry, academia, and research, continuously amplifying the role of leading enterprises as "incubators." Chery, one of the region's leading enterprises, has alone incubated over 300 high-tech enterprises and more than 10 listed companies.

Located in the central urban area of Wuhu, Wuhu High-tech Zone (Yijiang District) was integrated with Wuhu Sanshan Economic Development Zone in September 2025. Through spatial restructuring, resource consolidation, and functional reorganization, the region's development momentum has been continuously strengthened, achieving a GDP of 87.67 billion yuan in 2025, ranking second among high-tech zones in the province.

A strong industrial foundation and a robust innovation ecosystem are the zone's greatest advantages. Currently, the zone has established a "1+3+3" modern industrial system, centered on intelligent connected new energy vehicles, next-generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, and other key sectors.

As the "main engine" driving technological innovation in Wuhu, Wuhu High-tech Zone has consistently built innovation platforms aligned with industrial needs. To date, the zone has established 242 research and development and innovation platforms at the provincial level or above, covering leading industries such as intelligent connected new energy vehicles and next-generation information technology, forming a full-chain support system encompassing "basic research, technological breakthroughs, and results commercialization." Currently, the zone is home to over 404 high-tech enterprises and more than 900 technology-based SMEs. 

This year, Wuhu High-tech Zone will continue to focus on its "1+3+3" strategic direction to strengthen technology-based investment promotion. While making every effort to expand its leading industry of intelligent connected new energy vehicles, it will also refine three specialty industries: next-generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, and wellness and happiness industries. Concurrently, it will actively cultivate three future industries: brain science, biomanufacturing, and space-air-ground integrated technologies, accelerating the formation of industrial clusters with core competitiveness.
