On February 10, the Anhui Museum held a press briefing to announce its exhibition plans for 2026, which will feature more than ten high-quality exhibitions.
In 2026, the Anhui Museum will focus on organizing several special exhibitions with significant academic and artistic value. Original major exhibitions such as "Heavenly Questions—The Cosmology of Chinese Civilization" and "The Lifeline of Civilization—A Special Exhibition on the Civilization of the Huaihe River Basin" will provide an in-depth interpretation of the essence of Chinese civilization. Additionally, the museum will introduce domestic high-quality exhibitions, including "The Yellow River Flowing Through the Grasslands—Cultural Relics from the Yellow River Basin of Inner Mongolia" and "Treasures of the Forbidden City—Ming and Qing Court Culture and Art," to facilitate dialogue among diverse civilizations. The Anhui Civilization History Exhibition will also undergo a comprehensive upgrade, offering visitors a more systematic experience of local history.
During the Spring Festival, the Anhui Museum took the lead in launching four distinctive new exhibitions, creating a rich cultural atmosphere for the holiday. "Gallop into the New Year—2026 Global Zodiac Culture Exhibition Celebrating the Year of the Horse" centers around the Chinese zodiac, showcasing horse-themed cultures from around the world. "Mawangdui—The Han Dynasty: A Family's 'Dream of Eternal Life'" guides visitors through the burial practices and material civilization of the Han Dynasty. "The Yellow River Flowing Through the Grasslands—Cultural Relics from the Yellow River Basin of Inner Mongolia" highlights the cultural fusion between the grasslands and the Yellow River. "Inquiry into Rituals—Exquisite Artifacts from the Zhou Dynasty Guo State" interprets the ritual and music systems of the Zhou Dynasty through precious artifacts.
To complement the Spring Festival exhibitions, the Anhui Museum will host interactive activities such as "Celebrate Chinese New Year -Teaser Challenge" and "Handcrafting Festive Delights." Additionally, over 80 new cultural and creative products, including "Horse Brings Blessings" and "Elegant Gathering of Anhui," as well as themed culinary offerings, will be launched, allowing visitors to enjoy a culturally enriching Spring Festival celebration at the museum.
